Grievous Angel Soft Opens in Downtown Lakeland

A downtown spot reimagined

Grievous Angel takes over the former Unfiltered Lakeland and The Poor Porker space across from Lake Mirror. Renovations transformed the space, creating a casual downtown hangout for lunch and dinner, with refreshed indoor seating and a covered outdoor patio.

The name nods to Grievous Angel, the 1974 album by Winter Haven native Gram Parsons, reflecting owner Jeremy Brumley’s music-inspired branding.

Menu highlights

The restaurant serves smash burgers and hot dogs, shifting away from LoveBird’s hot chicken concept. Sides include fries, spicy fried pickles, eggrolls, and a Texas chop wedge, and the restaurant offers soft serve and Poor Man’s Beignets to round out a meal.
