The University of Kentucky is moving forward with plans to acquire Coliseum Plaza, a key corner property near campus, for about $3.9 million, according to Jon Hale and Janet Patton of the Lexington Herald-Leader.
The 0.43-acre lot at Rose Street and Avenue of Champions (Euclid Avenue) has several restaurants and a liquor store, including Bangkok House, El Mariachi Mexican Restaurant & Cantina, Tropical Smoothie, and Coliseum Liquors.
According to UK documents, the property will be used “for future development projects in the area,” potentially as part of a planned athletic fan entertainment district near Memorial Coliseum.
