Woman gets one year for defrauding COVID-19 relief programs of over $500k

MEMPHIS, Tenn. —  A Memphis woman was sentenced to one year and one day after being convicted of defrauding COVID-19 relief programs out of over $500,000.

Karen Guevara, 38, was also sentenced to three years of supervised release.

Guevara was found guilty of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and making false claims against the United States government…
