BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) – Drivers in the Belforest area of Baldwin County will soon see work continuing on the County Road 64 widening project after the county secured $2 million in federal funding through the Eastern Shore Metropolitan Planning Organization.
Work on the project was put on hold for several months due to lack of funding. The next phase will get underway by this summer and will consist of the relocation of all underground utilities.
Right of way was secured and cleared during phase one. When finished, County Road 64 will be three-laned with a center turn lane for the two-mile stretch of road between Fish River and Highway 181.
