Man, teen accused of arson at Peninsula Heavy Duty in York County

YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY)– Two people face charges after being accused of arson in York County.

According to officials, around 5:30 p.m. on February 8, fire crews responded to Peninsula Heavy Duty, located in the 7600 block of George Washington Memorial Highway, for the report of several vehicles on fire. When crews arrived, they found several vehicles, that were being stored on the property, with burn damage.

After investigating, the cause of the fire was determined to be arson. Officials say the damage exceeded $10,000.

As a result, Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested 18-year-old Varry Darnell Shannon and a 17-year-old male on February 11. They are both charged with four counts of Felony Arson…
