A suspect was arrested at a postal station after an alleged attack at a home in The Villages.
Deputies were investigating the altercation when they tracked down 47-year-old Jeffrey-Michael Stewart who lives in the Julia Villas in the Village of Chitty Chatty. He was found at about 8 p.m. Thursday at the postal station in the Village of Lake Deaton, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. He was seated on a park bench and his golf cart was parked nearby.
A woman told deputies that Stewart had taken a “confrontational tone” with her and threw a pillow at her, causing her drink to spill. He threw a second pillow which hit the kitchen counter, knocking multiple items to the floor. Alarmed at his behavior, the woman began to use her phone to record Stewart’s actions. He tried to slap the phone out of her hand. There was video showing Stewart’s “aggressive motion” while he called the woman “profane names.” He fled the home in a golf cart.
Stewart had been arrested in 2021 in connection with the the theft of CO2 cartridges at Shooters World. He was arrested again later that same year by the Wildwood Police Department’s Selective Enforcement Unit…
