The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the entire Philadelphia region and South Jersey from Sunday morning through Monday afternoon. Heavy snow is expected with accumulations exceeding 6 inches are possible, along with wind gusts up to 35 mph.
The watch includes language warning of significant winter storm impacts, including heavy snow, strong winds, and coastal flooding.
Forecast charts provided b they NWS shows most of South Jersey has about a 90% chance of receiving at least 2 inches of snow. The “sweet spot” seems to be 6″ or more… but they also show the probability of 12 inches or more currently sits around 43%!
This system likely caught many people by surprise, as it wasn’t widely discussed earlier today. Keep in mind I am not a meteorologist — I’m simply relaying what the National Weather Service has released to give you a heads-up…
