Council on Aging of St. Lucie to host Black History Month celebration

FORT PIERCE – The Council on Aging of St. Lucie proudly presents its Black History Month Celebration, “Echoes of Excellence: Preserving Stories That Shape Our Future Generation,” on Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 1505 Orange Ave., Fort Pierce.

This meaningful community event will honor the voices, experiences, and enduring legacy of senior citizens whose lives and leadership continue to inspire future generations. The celebration will feature community storytelling, reflections on cultural pride and historical impact, and intergenerational engagement designed to preserve and uplift the stories that shape our community.

The program will include a featured address by speaker Darrell Drummond, along with special moments of recognition and reflection. The event theme, “Our Stories. Our Legacy,” underscores the importance of preserving history through lived experiences and honoring the contributions of elders in the Black community…
