Monroe Makeup Bandit Vanishes After $5K Drugstore Haul

Monroe police yesterday released surveillance photos as they ask for help tracking down a person accused of swiping more than $5,000 in makeup and cosmetics from two local drugstores on Jan. 27. Officers say the suspect took off in a black Jeep with no visible license plate.

In a post from the Monroe Public Safety Department, officials say the individual is accused of loading up on merchandise at a CVS and a Walgreens in Monroe on Jan. 27, then driving away in a black Jeep with no plate on display. The alleged haul, according to the department, topped $5,000 in makeup and other cosmetic items.

The City of Monroe lists Detective Alexander McKenzie at (734) 243-7517 as the contact for anyone who has information about the case. Anonymous tips can also be shared with Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP, according to the city’s guidance.
