WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The next Cape Fear cold front will be in position to drape rain chances across more than just one day, like: 20 to 30% for Friday night, 40 to 50% for Saturday and Saturday night, and a leftover 50-60% for Sunday. A coastal low may try to develop off the Carolina coast Sunday, which could enhance rain chance through the day.
Wilmington’s high fell just short of 80 today and missed a record by two degrees. North Myrtle Beach and Lumberton tied record highs. Showers and colder weather is on the way for the weekend. #WECTwx#ILMwxpic.twitter.com/jLUUKajg1l

Post-front, nightly low temps likely to sink to and below freezing for Sunday night, Monday night, and Tuesday night of next week; daytime numbers will revert to the brisk 40s and 50s also. Temperatures rise back to more normal levels by midweek with the next significant rain chance arriving on Thursday.
