Condado Tacos opened at 6700 Rockside Rd., branding the former Melt restaurant space as its own with a personalized theme to Northeast Ohio.
The painted interior wall murals depict Condado Tacos’ brand characters and a map of the Emerald Necklace, a Cleveland Metroparks trail network. Taking the name literally, the murals, painted by local Cleveland artists, include actual emerald necklaces for guests to find.
This location is the sixth in the Greater Cleveland area and the 53rd Condado overall. It is a privately owned restaurant founded in Columbus, said Chief Marketing Director Sara Kear. “It is a fantastic market and Independence has amazing people,” she said. “The location fits the combination of businesses and people living in the area.”
Condado began as a build-your-own taco restaurant and has evolved to include burritos and bowls, which Kear said are as popular as the tacos. She said the menu changes were in response to guests’ preferences. “Condado’s concept is make it your own,” she said…
