Strongsville’s Old Italian Village Gets A Flashy New Boss In Deano’s Trattoria

Dean and Bethany Martin are about to give a familiar Strongsville address a serious glow up. Their new spot, Deano’s Trattoria, is set to take over the former Italian Village on Pearl Road, with an opening targeted for April 1. The restaurant is billed as a modern Italian operation that leans into house-made pastas alongside steaks and chops, with private dining, catering and a live-music lounge all baked into the plan. It also marks a notable expansion for the Martins, who are stretching their hospitality footprint beyond Akron into the city’s southern suburbs.

As reported by Cleveland.com, Deano’s Trattoria will feature an attached Deano’s Lounge for live entertainment. The Strongsville outpost is expected to boost takeout and catering options in the area, while leaning heavily on a menu built around handmade pastas and grill-focused entrees.

Local Owners With A Track Record

The project is being led by Dean and Bethany Martin, who already operate Dean Martin’s Lanning’s in Akron. That restaurant offers multiple private dining rooms and includes a bar called Deano’s Lounge, according to the Lanning’s website. Their formula at Lanning’s, from special event packages to regular live-music programming, appears to be the blueprint they plan to adapt for the Strongsville location.

Space And Its Past Life

The Italian Village building on Pearl Road has been shuttered for renovations since early 2025, according to information posted on the restaurant’s own site. The property had been part of a portfolio overseen by Marc Glassman’s Cleveland Restaurant Management Group, which has been busy rolling out new dining concepts around Greater Cleveland while reworking underused spaces, Cleveland Magazine reports.

Menu, Lounge And Opening Timeline

According to Cleveland.com, Deano’s Trattoria will showcase house-made pastas along with steaks and chops, and will be built to handle private dining, catering and takeout. “We are confident that this new addition to our portfolio will further solidify our reputation for excellence in the restaurant industry,” Deano Martin told Cleveland.com about the Strongsville venture.

How The Move Fits Regional Trends

The Strongsville opening lands in the middle of a larger regional shakeup, as operators test fresh restaurant concepts in suburban shopping centers and plazas, according to The 216 Scoop. For local diners, Deano’s Trattoria is expected to bring more late-night entertainment and additional private-event space to a stretch of Pearl Road that has not consistently offered either in recent years…
