(Des Moines, IA) — The amount of snow that fell across Central Iowa in the past day broke records.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Alexis Jimenez says 5.9 inches of snow fell in Des Moines, breaking the old record of daily snow fall amount of 5.8 inches set back in 1919.
