A dog once found living near an abandoned mall in Jackson is now looking for a permanent home after a turnaround that rescue volunteers describe as a “comeback” story.
Cheshire Abbey Animal Rescue said Nala, a young dog estimated to be about 2 years old, was initially wary and protective when she was first brought into care. Volunteers said she had been living outdoors and had recently cared for puppies, all of whom have since been adopted.
With time and consistent handling, the rescue said Nala has shown a calmer, affectionate side. She enjoys playing with other dogs to burn off energy but also settles in as a “cuddlebug,” according to the rescue…
