OPPD’s Bellevue Reliability Project Seeks Public Input

The Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) is upgrading its transmission and distribution systems in Bellevue to improve resilience and reliability for the community and support planned growth.

Bellevue is experiencing significant growth in southeast Bellevue, including local infrastructure investments and the development of the city’s new Good Life District, which will feature a water park, hotels, and restaurants near the intersection of Highways 75 and 34. OPPD needs to expand alongside the community.

OPPD is also addressing system vulnerabilities identified during the 2019 flood, including removing a substation from the floodplain and adopting a design that enhances redundancy and grid resilience to better serve Bellevue customers…
