STATELINE, Ill. (WIFR) – As temperatures fluctuate across the region, drivers notice more potholes popping up on local roads. Leaders say the late winter warm-up followed by freezing conditions is one of the reasons for more potholes.
“This time of year, with the warm weather that we had the last few days, we have seen more,” said Carlos Molina, the county engineer for the Winnebago County Highway Department. “It’s something we are used to. We know this time of year, going into March, you will see more.”
