ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A 17-year-old was arrested on Thursday for shooting and killing a teen and injuring another in an Albuquerque Allsup’s parking lot, police announced.
Eduardo Huerta was charged with an open count of murder, tampering with evidence, aggravated battery with great bodily harm, and shooting at or from a motor vehicle for the shooting death of Ethan Cruz, 17, at the Allsup’s gas station located at 9501 Gibson Blvd. SW on Jan. 20. A 17-year-old girl who was with Cruz was also injured during the incident.
APD said Huerta made plans to sell a firearm to Cruz and the two communicated through a social media app. Surveillance video showed Cruz get out of the passenger side of a Nissan Rogue and interact with people in a red Infiniti before walking back to his vehicle, according to police. As the Nissan Rogue started to drive away, the red Infiniti drove toward the Nissan Rogue, both vehicles stopped, and several gunshots were fired…
