SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Recently released files show former Attorney General Sean Reyes defended a University of Utah law professor amid a legal battle with Jeffrey Epstein’s former attorney.
“Protecting survivors was a high priority for me,” Reyes said.

After the U.S. Justice Department released millions of files relating to the late-sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, documents surfaced surrounding a legal battle between University of Utah law professor Paul Cassell and Epstein’s former attorney Alan Dershowitz, a retired Harvard law professor himself.
“In this case, we were up against a powerful and popular law professor from a prestigious Ivy League university,” Reyes recalled. “As counsel for the lawyer defending Epstein victims, I helped prepare questions and strategies for the examination and then attended the deposition of the accused professor.”…
