Rocket Removed, Scrim Replaces Construction Wall at Downtown Disney LEGO Store

Work continues on the exterior refurbishment of the LEGO Store in Downtown Disney District. In our last update, we noted that Buzz and Woody were removed from the LEGO rocket outside.

Now the rocket itself is gone, as is the sky mural that was behind it. Instead, there are just orange and white stripes on the wall.

Some markings and a hole show where the mural used to be attached. We don’t know if the rocket’s removal is for an off-site restoration or if it will be completely replaced by a new display.

Nearby is a metal framework we first noticed a few weeks ago. A black flat piece has been added to the back of the frame, up against the wall.

Part of the construction walls near the store’s entrance was removed and replaced by beige scrim. This may be to allow larger equipment into the construction zone.

Last month, the LEGO model of Prince Phillip battling Maleficent was restored with new elements. A new outdoor interactive area next to the statue was also installed.

The LEGO Store remains open and is located right next to the Monorail station. Guests can shop for LEGO sets, watch demonstrations, and turn personal photos into a mosaic. It’s also the West Coast’s one and only Minifigure Factory, where you can personalize your own custom LEGO Minifigure. The interior was refurbished in 2024…
