AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Nearly a decade after 16-year-old Janell Carwell was reported missing, the murder trial of the two people charged in her death is set to begin Monday.
Leon Tripp and Tanya Tripp—Carwell’s mother—are both charged with murder in Carwell’s death. Prosecutors believe the Tripps tried to hire a hitman to kill her.
