Asheville police officer arrested, suspended

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – An Asheville police officer has been suspended following his arrest on charges related to domestic violence.

According to the Asheville Police Department, on Friday officers were called to an apartment complex on Palisades Circle regarding a trespassing complaint. As a result of the investigation, warrants were obtained for Paul Anthony Duvernay III for assault on a female.

Police said the incident occurred in the city limits, but Duvernay was arrested in Swannanoa by the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday. He was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility where he is being held under no bond and under a 48-hour domestic violence hold…
