CLARKSVILLE, TN – Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center invite the public to step back in time to 1862, during a special living history event commemorating the historic surrender of Clarksville. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is presented in partnership with the Friends of Fort Defiance.
“We are excited to partner with the Friends of Fort Defiance for the annual Surrender of Clarksville event at Fort Defiance,” said Roxanne Jenkins, Associate Historical Interpreter.
“The 9th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry will camp throughout the day while participating in musket drills, and Porter’s Battery will provide artillery demonstrations. Visitors will hear stories of soldiers, see period equipment, authentic uniforms, and learn all about Civil War camp life…
