Cincinnati native earns gold medal, helps set Winter Olympics record for Team USA

CINCINNATI (AP/WKRC) – Cincinnati native Chris Curran won a gold medal Saturday at the Olympic Winter Games, helping the United States capture the mixed aerials title at Livigno Snow Park in Milan.

Curran teamed with Kaila Kuhn and Chris Lillis in the event, which features three skiers — including at least one woman — each performing one jump, with the combined scores determining the winner.

In the qualifying round, Curran landed a back full-double full-full. In the finals, he repeated the jump, helping the United States post a combined score of 208.16, nearly 24 points ahead of China. Lillis finished off the win, putting Team USA well over Switzerland…
