Hamilton County School Board considers changes to Quick Tip system, substitute pay

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. — At Thursday’s Hamilton County School Board meeting, members continued to voice concerns about substitute teacher pay and the district’s Quick Tips system.

Board member Jackie Thomas believe substitutes should have better income:

“It’s ridiculous that we are paying people $8.50 an hour to come in and care for our children. So we need to consider $10 an hour. And I know it costs money, and we’re always fussing about money. I’m just saying if you pay people what they’re worth, they don’t have a problem with coming more than one day.””…
