An Ocala man was arrested on drug charges after being stopped near Wawa with fentanyl and methamphetamine.
A deputy observed a red Ford Escape parked at Wawa, located at 11770 N U.S. 301, Oxford, around 12:10 a.m. Thursday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. A check of the tag revealed the driver, 61-year-old Brian Chad Grable, did not have a valid driver’s license.
Due to this, the deputy stopped the vehicle on County Road 466. Grable admitted he did not have a driver’s license and turned off his vehicle when asked. But when told to step out, he turned the key as if he was going to flee from the traffic stop, the report said.
The deputy then opened his door and grabbed his left wrist, ordering him out as he tried to snatch his arm away. He was ultimately pulled out of the vehicle and brought to the ground, the report said…
