West Cermak Crash Turns Shocking as Driver Found Shot in the Back

A late-night crash on the 2200 block of West Cermak Road took a grim turn Wednesday when officers found the driver with a gunshot wound to the back, Chicago police said. The man, believed to be in his 20s, was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. As of Thursday afternoon, no arrests had been made.

According to Chicago police, the incident unfolded around 10:29 p.m., when a driver traveling through an alley struck a pole. Not long after, officers found the man nearby with a gunshot wound to his back. He was transported to Mount Sinai in critical condition while Area Four detectives began their investigation, according to ABC7 Chicago.
