LINCOLN–(KFOR Feb. 21)–Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) this week announced that portions of three streets are scheduled to close beginning Monday, February 23, and Wednesday, February 25. The closures are as follows:
Monday, February 23 through Friday, February 27
- “A” Street between Ninth and 11th Streets will close for fire hydrant relocation work. The recommended detour is Ninth Street to South Street to 13th Street. StarTran Route 51-West “A” will be detoured during this work.
- Old Cheney Road between U.S. Highway 77 and Warlick Boulevard will close for private sanitary sewer construction. The recommended detour is U.S. Highway 77 to Warlick Boulevard.
Wednesday, February 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- 40th Street between Nebraska Parkway and Pioneers Boulevard will close for Lincoln Electric System utility work. The recommended detour is Nebraska Parkway to 33rd Street to Pioneers Boulevard. StarTran Route 56-Sheridan will be detoured during this work.
Digital signs will alert traffic to upcoming work and closures. Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and exercise caution around these closures.
