Omaha families hit the slopes at Memorial Park after first major snowfall in 5 years

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The day after Omaha’s first significant snowfall in more than five years, families headed to Memorial Park to go sledding.

Children with the day off from school were among those on the hill Thursday. Emmett Mortenson, one of the sledders, said speed, size and control are key to a good run.

“I think it’s got to be going fast. It’s got to be big enough to hold at least one person and you got to have control of it,” Mortenson said.
