After taking gold in Italy this week, a San Antonio-area mother has become the most-decorated Black athlete in Winter Olympic history.
Elana Meyers Taylor, 41, won her first gold medal on Monday in the women’s monobob, beating Laura Nolte of Germany by just four-hundredths of a second. It’s the fourth medal the New Braunfels resident has won during her 16-year career in the sport, which is the individual version of bobsledding.
