The Longmont Museum announced on Thursday that it has raised $10.2 million through its capital campaign, the funds from which will be put toward the museum’s expansion of its exhibits, galleries, and entryway. The fundraising campaign, which launched in 2023, initially aimed to raise $8.1 million, but “expanded its target to meet the needs of the community,” according to the museum. The campaign remains underway.
The Longmont Museum’s galleries closed for renovation and expansion in May 2025 after the conclusion of its exhibit, “A Graphic Journey: Prints by Pablo Picasso,” and the construction is expected to continue until October 2026. Programs hosted by the museum (such as classes, camps, film screenings, concerts, talks and more) have continued throughout the construction process.
In a press release published on February 19, representatives from the museum said that the renovations follow “multiple years of program growth, evaluation and community conversations about needs and priorities for the cultural facility.” Essenza Architecture, a company based in Louisville, was hired to complete the project.
