Boise man sentenced to up to life in prison for “executing” housemate

BOISE—Scott Edward Stevens Jr., 37, was sentenced today by the Honorable District Judge Jason D. Scott to 38 years fixed and up to life in prison after pleading guilty to Second-Degree Murder for a fatal stabbing on October 4, 2024.

When Boise Police officers arrived on scene, they found Stevens covered in blood and holding a bloody knife. Stevens had inflicted multiple stab wounds to the victim’s body and neck, from which the victim died.

Investigators determined Stevens and the victim knew each other and were living in the same home. When two other housemates attempted to intervene, Stevens threatened them with the murder weapon. Officers recovered the weapon at the scene and took Stevens into custody…
