LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The family of the mother and daughter killed in a murder-suicide at the Rio Hotel and Casino repeatedly contacted police, urgently seeking confirmation about whether officers had entered their hotel room and whether the two were alive.
According to 911 calls the 8 News Now Investigators obtained Friday, several family members of Tawnia McGeehan, 34, and Addi Smith, 11, called Las Vegas Metro police and the fire department to see if their loved ones were in their hotel room.
On Sunday, Feb. 15, McGeehan shot and killed Smith, police, before dying by suicide, police and the coroner’s office said. The pair was reported missing in Las Vegas by friends and family in Utah after they were last seen at the New York New York Hotel and Casino on Friday…
