Update: Police barricade ends in northwest Las Vegas; 1 person in custody

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A barricade involving police and an armed man in a northwest valley home ended Friday morning after more than eight hours, with the man being taken into custody.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan police, officers responded to the home around 11:20 p.m Thursday for a disturbance call, which turned into a SWAT situation when the armed man refused to leave the house.

The home is in the 7100 block of Eyebright Street, near Elkhorn Road, east of U.S. 95/I-11. Due to the standoff, Elkhorn remains closed to traffic from the freeway to Cimarron Road. Other roads are also affected, as is access to the Somerset SkyPointe Campus. Police did not say when the roads will reopen…
