Broken promise or misunderstanding? Portland homeless shelter shuttle no longer runs a set route

Pearl District residents, both housed and homeless, are complaining that the city yanked a promised shuttle between the Northrup overnight-only shelter and the outdoor Oasis day center, about a mile away in Old Town.

For people with limited mobility who stayed at the overnight-only shelter, the shuttle allowed them to more easily get to the Oasis, which was created by the city as a place for shelter users to spend time during the day.

City officials say they never promised a dedicated shuttle, though one did run several times a morning for several months…
