Eugene police cleared in January 30 riot review, no violations found

EUGENE, Ore. – A preliminary review by the Eugene Police Auditor’s Office found no misconduct by the Eugene Police Department (EPD) during the January 30 incident at the Eugene Federal Building.

According to the office, the review focused on EPD actions and excluded federal and Springfield law enforcement due to jurisdiction limits. The review involved analyzing over 200 videos and reports. The Eugene Police Department was cleared of any violations related to the Sanctuary Promise Act, which restricts local involvement in federal immigration enforcement. Body cameras showed no use of force by EPD, though federal agents used munitions at the scene.
