Farewell Message from Eric Dane Released Posthumously by Netflix

Los Angeles, CA – Beloved actor Eric Dane, known for his roles in hit series like Grey’s Anatomy and Euphoria, has passed away at the age of 53 after a battle with ALS. His passing on Thursday comes approximately a year after he publicly revealed his diagnosis.

In a poignant and moving gesture, Netflix released a pre-recorded message from Dane on Friday, part of their Famous Last Words program. The footage, taped in November, offered a final, heartfelt address from the actor.

“I hope I’ve demonstrated that you can face anything, you can face the end of your days, you can face hell with dignity,” Dane shared in the recording. He then turned his attention to his daughters, Billie and Georgia, offering words of strength and love.

“Fight, girls, and hold your heads high. Billie and Georgia, you are my heart, you are my everything.

Goodnight. I love you.”

Beyond these powerful words, Dane also imparted wisdom to his teenage daughters, encouraging them to embrace the present, experience love, and make discerning choices in their friendships.

Dane, who announced in December that he was working on a memoir detailing his life and career, remained active in his profession. Last year, he starred in the Prime Video drama series Countdown and made a guest appearance on NBC’s Brilliant Minds, ironically portraying a firefighter confronting ALS.

His extensive filmography includes notable roles in Charmed, Marley & Me, The Last Ship, Americana, and Bad Boys: Ride or Die. He had been married to actress Rebecca Gayheart since 2004.
