Quiet weekend ahead as high pressure builds and temperatures begin to rebound

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A much quieter weekend is in store across our area after a pretty busy weather week.

The next North Pacific storm system is digging into the ocean far enough away from our region such that a broad ridge of high pressure will be the dominant piece of our local weather puzzle.

After a chilly start look for daytime temperatures to start making a gradual rebound. Saturday afternoon could see highs into the low 60s across the South Valley. Bring a jacket or sweater if heading up to the mountains, however, as chilly temps and recent snow will reinforce the feel of winter…
