Some shelter dogs are excited to meet anyone and everyone, but others, like Walter and Uma, need extra space and time to decompress. After all, the shelter can be a noisy, chaotic place to live, especially for dogs who came from stressful environments before they were rescued. These nervous pups are just two of over 40 dogs who were saved from a hoarding case in California’s Central Valley, and it’s clear they’ve been through a lot.
These sweet, shy dogs have been overlooked for months, and now they’re the last ones from their case to be adopted. Fortunately, rescue dog advocate @jjack.iie is ready to do whatever it takes to help them find their forever homes.
Walter and Uma are two sweet terrier/Chihuahua mixes, about 2 years old, who have been overlooked for months simply because they’re shy. They came from a heartbreaking hoarding case of 40+ dogs, and while all of their siblings have found loving homes, these two are still waiting. Walter and Uma just need time to come out of their shells and learn to trust – and once they do, their gentle, loving personalities shine. They must go to a home with another dog (or together) because they gain confidence and blossom with a canine companion. They also do well with cats! More than anything, they need patience, understanding, and someone willing to let them warm up at their own pace.
