MSU study sheds light on why women experience longer-lasting pain

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -A new Michigan State University study is shedding light on a longstanding question in medicine: why, on average, pain seems to last longer for women than for men.

Doctors who study chronic pain have found that, in general, women experience pain for a longer period than men following an injury. This has led to stigma, with some doctors taking chronic pain less seriously in female patients.
