The Council Audit Committee voted to forward concerns about oversight of Stockton City Council meetings to the California State Controller’s Office after a dispute over a San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) presentation delivered at Tuesday’s council meeting.
The unanimous vote by Vice Mayor Jason Lee, District 1 Councilmember Michele Padilla and District 3 Councilmember Michael Blower came on Thursday, Feb. 20, after committee members discussed the transit funding presentation given by Mayor Christina Fugazi.
“This action is not about personalities, but rather policies,” Lee said. “It is about ensuring that when a reimbursement of funding in the millions may affect essential public transit services, the appropriate documentation is available for independent review and discussion.”…
