Officials in Southern New England begin preparations ahead of blizzard

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — Officials throughout Southern New England have begun preparations for the blizzard that is expected to hit at night on Feb. 22.

Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee said that the state has prepared crews and equipment to clear roads and was asking residents to prepare for the blizzard conditions.

“This is an all-hands-on-deck response,” the governor said. “Our crews and equipment are ready to clear the roads and keep our communities safe. We will continue to keep Rhode Islanders updated every step of the way.”…
