Memphis woman sentenced to federal prison over quitclaim deed scheme

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis woman will spend nearly five years in federal prison after she reportedly pleaded guilty to her role in a quitclaim deed scheme.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office, 41-year-old Shaneika Seymore has been sentenced to 57 months in federal prison.

Seymore was accused of notarizing multiple fraudulent quitclaim deeds that transferred homes to her and her alleged co-conspirators. The United States Attorney’s Office says those deeds were filed with the Shelby County Register of Deeds…
