BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) – The Beaufort County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim killed in a head-on collision Wednesday night as Michael Blankenship Jr., 35, of Ridgeland.
Blankenship died at the scene at 11:16 p.m. on February 18, 2026, from blunt force injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Okatie Highway and Oldefield Way, according to the coroner’s office.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol said a 2019 Infiniti QX50 was traveling in the wrong direction on the eastbound side of SC-170 when it collided head-on with a 2009 Toyota sedan driven by Blankenship around 11:15 p.m…
