VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY)– Community leaders and organizers are set to host a forum on affordable house in Virginia Beach.
The Virginia Beach Human Rights Commission (VBHRC) will host the “Community Conversations: Affordable Housing” forum on February 21. The forum is set to take place at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library, located at 4100 Virginia Beach Boulevard, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. It will feature a panel discussion on housing needs and affordability.
The panelists include:
- Melissa Bonfiglio, deputy director and director, Litigation for Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia
- Gustavo Espinosa, senior organizer and policy advocate, Legal Aid Justice Center
- Victor Leite, chief executive officer, Dwell, a workforce and attainable housing provider serving Hampton Roads
- Gus Maxwell, public outreach coordinator, Hampton Roads Transit
- Sharon Shoff, Housing Development manager, Department of Housing and Neighborhood Preservation
