Amarillo man reaches Federal Court plea agreement for illegal gun possession

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – An Amarillo man has reached a plea agreement in Amarillo Federal Court for “Possession of Firearms in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime.”

Juan Luis Soto-Morales reached the agreement earlier this week after being indicted last month, according to court documents.

The indictment charged Soto-Morales with alleged “Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine,” “Alien in Possession of Firearms,” “Possession of Firearms in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime,” and “Illegal Re-entry After Deportation.” As part of the plea deal, court documents noted all other charges were dropped…
