Two Arrested After Stabbing Near Milwaukee’s Mitchell Airport

A 19-year-old was stabbed during an attempted robbery at a hotel near Milwaukee’s Mitchell International Airport early Thursday, and two people were taken into custody, according to Milwaukee police. The teen was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Officers detained a 22-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman at the scene.

As reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, officers and sheriff’s deputies responded just after midnight to the Super 8 on South Howell Avenue. Investigators say the confrontation started as an attempted robbery, and the case will be forwarded to prosecutors to decide whether formal charges will be filed.

WISN 12 News reported that responding officers found a knife lying in the street and stretched police tape across part of the hotel’s parking lot while they worked the scene. The station said Milwaukee police and sheriff’s deputies remained on site as medics loaded the wounded 19-year-old into an ambulance and took them to a hospital, where they are expected to recover.

Victim and arrests

CBS 58 reported that the victim is 19 years old and suffered non-fatal stab wounds. Police arrested a 22-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman in connection with the incident. Authorities have not released their names, citing the ongoing investigation.
