Maplewood Mother Charged After Alleged Assault of 10-Year-Old Inside Troubled Home

Maplewood, Minnesota — A 31-year-old woman is facing multiple criminal charges after authorities say she was aware of and helped plan an alleged assault on a 10-year-old child inside her home earlier this month.

Amber Lynn Raymond has been charged with felony child endangerment, along with gross misdemeanor counts of malicious punishment of a child and child neglect, according to a criminal complaint filed in Ramsey County.

Police say the case surfaced on Feb. 1, when Maplewood officers received a report about a video that allegedly showed a man striking a young girl inside a residence Raymond shared with her boyfriend, 25-year-old Basil Neil Woods.

According to investigators, officers obtained a copy of the video, which allegedly shows Woods entering a bedroom wearing a mask and lightweight boxing gloves. The child was reportedly asleep on the floor when the incident began…
