Teen Suspect Arrested for Alleged Assault at Boston’s Back Bay MBTA Station

A teenage suspect has been taken into custody in connection with an assault at Back Bay MBTA station. According to Transit Police, a 14-year-old boy has been arrested following an incident in which a 27-year-old man was forcefully kicked into a moving train, as reported by The Boston Globe.

The altercation, which occurred on Tuesday, escalated when the juveniles, including the arrested teen, tried to take man’s Charlie Card. The violence culminated in the man being launched backwards into a departing train car. A charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon is pending against the arrested youth, who has not been identified because he is a minor. Boston 25 News interviewed a nurse who assisted the victim post-attack, revealing that the aggressors fled in various directions, some returning briefly to taunt their victim.

Immediately after the attack, the 27-year-old, who was celebrating his birthday and on his way to visit his girlfriend, was brought to the hospital to be treated for a laceration on his forehead. The victim is expected to make a full recovery. The group of teens involved were reported to be as many as ten in number, with additional arrests yet to be announced as the investigation continues…
