Railroad crossing on South Elm Street in Greensboro to close until March for upgrades, city says

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A railroad crossing on South Elm Street will close to all traffic beginning Monday, Feb. 23, as Norfolk Southern upgrades tracks at the railroad crossing, city officials said.

The closure will last through March 6 and will block vehicles and pedestrians from passing through the crossing. Detour signs will direct traffic around the work zone, and drivers are urged to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time.

Officials said construction schedules may change depending on weather and operational needs. More information about city road closures is available on the city’s website, where residents can also sign up for email updates on traffic impacts…
