Texas woman facing charges after Luttrell man found dead in barn

LUTTRELL, Tenn. (WATE) — Nearly six months after a Luttrell man was found dead, a Texas woman has been arrested and faces charges related to his death.

Following an investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Union County Sheriff’s Office, Keairra Jackson, 28, was charged with one count of criminally negligent homicide. The Union County Grand Jury returned an indictment against her last week.

Richard Nathan Ritter, 19, was reported missing on August 5, 2025. Deputies with the Union County Sheriff’s Office then found his body inside a barn along Old Tazewell Pike in Luttrell. In September, TBI agents joined UCSO in working to determine what led to Ritter’s death. TBI shared that evidence was found implicating Jackson in Ritter’s death.

Jackson was arrested on Thursday by officers with the Irving Police Department in Texas. She is currently being held in the Dallas County (TX) Detention Center until she can be extradited to Tennessee.
